I have never dove down in SD but I can tell you that it is highly unlikely that people are going to give up there holes... I would try to get on a charter and really try for a multi day charter since you are driving from so far. If you are stuck from the shore try the jetties and breakwalls they always produce. If you do try the walls be careful vis is usually poor and you can get in trouble real quick... good luck on your trip give a report when you get back
