Has anyone beem out diving around OML or around Palos Verdes Pennisula lately?
I was viewing Neptunes from the cliff on sunday and it looked like the VIS has improved. I know the water temp has been climbing upward.
Would like to give PV a try this up coming weekend.
Thanks,

Did a few Marineland dives recently. Yesterday I entered at Long Point and exited at the Cove, conditions looked solid on the surface but at depth strong current and brown water "possible plankton bloom" plagued the dive. Temps were 64 @ surface and 63 @ 66ft! Last week I did a 120 reef dive, visibility wasn't half bad "between 8-10ft" and a moderate surge was present. Temps on that dive was 64 @ surface and 54 @ 35ft. Even with the marginal conditions I've experienced, its still better than it has been for most of the year. With the low visibility, current and surge, photography has been difficult but here are a couple highlights:

thanks Frank. A friend has invited me to go diving off his boat this Saturday. I told him we could try either honeymoon or christmas tree cove, but am leary of the VIS.

Just got done with a free dive at Christmas Tree cove. Visibility was good "10-15ft" but there was a mild surge. Also the swell forecast shows conditions changing for the worst tomorrow and holding all the way until next week. If your diving from a boat though, I'm sure you'll be able to find somewhere half decent. Good luck;)

I just got back from Haggerty's. Brown water down to the bottom at 55 feet. 65F at the surface, 58F at depth. I'll see if I got any decent pics.

Not really. I only saved three, and they aren't award winners.

One of the two moray eels we saw. It's the first dive I've found both of them in a couple of years.
