Thanks everyone for your kind welcomes! Although in its infancy my research is focussing predominantly on epifauna-wharf piling relationships, the effects of different substrates on encrusting marine organisms, conversely the effects of these critters on pile longevity (wee bit of engineering - my wannabe alter-ego) - etc etc in my home harbour, Waitemata. That's it in a nutshell but as my pilot work proceeds I'll head off on different related avenues i.e. original research (I hope).
