SIX MILE A 36-year-old man died Monday after a swimming accident at Gap Hill Landing in Pickens County.
Pickens County Coroner Kandy Kelley said Timothy J. Clayton went swimming off a dock at the landing, which is near S.C. 183.
He went underwater and was rescued by the Pickens County Dive Team, Kelley said.
A short time later, he was pronounced dead at Cannon Memorial Hospital.
The coroner and the Pickens County Sheriffs Office are investigating Claytons death.
