M<anni,
I have a check valve immediately after the moisture trap - That is correct -- this allows bleed of the moisture trap with no back flow from the filters. Immediately after the 2nd filter is a bleed valve which allows you to remove the pressure from the filters to change cartridges. Next is the PMV which actually holds pressure in the moisture trap and both filter chambers. Your fill whip attaches to the PMV. In your crate is a complete operating procedure that covers all these same issues. I have been doing this for many years and read most all comments on scuba board.

Thanks Jim.
As I sad earlier - I figured it was there, I just dont know what I am looking at yet.I think that I ended up finding the valve and posting it for them to see.

As I said earlier - I did a lot of homework and I dont think anyone can find a more trustworthy and reliable "compressor guy" than Jim. He worked with us very patiently, customized for us, and answered many questions. If there is something that "should" be there - I'm sure it is.

Divingtactics,

Sweet setup! I love how you did the labels and I am going to steal that idea :) Where did you get those labels made on your tanks? They look sharp!!

That is also really great how you integrated your Haskel. I think I may have screwed myself on my HII booster. I erased my pictures on my old Iphone and their cad drawings don't make sense. I may have to send it back to HII for them to puzzle it back together for me :)

Looks great!

Hi Mike,

Glad you liked it. Your system is pretty nice too, although you have a little more digital gauge addiction than I do. Yeah the labels are really just bling but do help with how much the system has grown over the last year or so. I think of it as a safety measure to ensure I don't open the wrong thing at the wrong time. The integration of the Haskel has been really handy and saves a lot of time by not having to change connections all the time.

I just made the labels in Photoshop, printed them out and then laminated them with 6x4 inch laminating pouches.

HI schematics are so much better than the Haskel ones, are you having trouble working out which way the seals go in? Let me know as I may have some pictures of the shafts that I pulled out. I'd need to check. Alternatively, post pictures of the bits you are having trouble putting back together and I'll let you know in which order they go.

Let me know if I can help.

Divingtactics Wow really nice.! You set the bar pretty high.
I was looking and wondering about that (drain) bottle to the left. I read after looking in awe.
See you topside! John

Hi John,

Glad you liked the system. The drain bottle is an old ally 240 bar cylinder that I machined to be able to insert fittings to take the drain hoses. Two larger ones from the auto drains and the smaller one is for the last drain on the P0 that doesn't really need to ever be drained but it also allows me to purge the system when changing filters on the P0. The reason I used a scuba tank was because I wanted something that was fully enclosed but of course as you add pressure to a fully enclosed vessel, the pressure builds up, so it needed the breather out of the open tanks valve connected to some flexible hose and then into some 4 inch plumbing pipe that then has a rocker cover breather on it. It works pretty well and the auto drains can open at 325 bar and dump all the moisture into the scuba cylinder, while the pressure gets dissipated via the tank valve and secondary breather container, so the scuba cylinder never builds up any pressure beyond about 150 psi.

Well I know where to come to if I need advice on an air system. Been looking for a compressor that may need a rebuild so as to save money and I love to tinker. 'mikecotrone' I have to ask, are you going to secure those stage tanks? They are an accident waiting to happen.

Absolutely! What you don't see in the picture is that I am waiting on two more fittings to finish the bank JIC connector to the tee with the Gauge. The banks are empty and not in service yet. I am waiting on a custom rack to secure all 4 tanks as my Oxygen tank is secured already. Plus I am adding 4 more tanks for Bank #2.

:)

Mike,

If you have any issues putting your booster back together, let me know. I've fully pulled my Haskel AGT15/30 down to every last part and Oxygen cleaned it too and may have a few tips. Let me guess - it's the check valves right? They can be a pain to put back together, but Perry from High Pressure Technologies told me about the little trick of putting a small amount of oxygen lube on the ring, so it stays put on the cradle while you put it in. This works well.

If it is the seal shearing the final o-ring in the HP barrel, while getting it past the cir-clip groove, Perry told me to squeeze them into the shape of an egg and feed them in sideways and then you can straighten them back up once they are past the cir-clip groove. This also works well.

If it's something else, let me know.

Cheers,

DT

DT Thanks again for the offer as you inspired me to jump back on that. I finally did get my booster back together last night :) It's working nicely and is now O2 clean :)

Thanks again for sharing your pictures!

Hey Mike,

Good to hear it is all working now. One of the only ways for us to learn is to share information with each other on forums like this. I have learned heaps from many people on here, particularly IYADiver and Ian Middlebrook on the nuances of proper filtration. It amazes me with the detail that some of these guys are prepared to go to just to help a fellow diver out. Especially IYA, that guy is gold.

Cheers,

DT
