Looks it will be one more mess in Labuan Bajo, and more dive pressure on Komodo NP, (won't even think about the harbor's poor infrastructure) .

Well there goes the neighborhood!
Luko is right, the harbor needs some improvement. Getting on/off the boats can be challenging depending on where they dock. I wonder if any of the park fees will go to improvements?

Unless you actually live in Darwin, this isn't actually any more convenient even for Aussies. We'd have to catch a domestic flight to Darwin and then connect through to LBJ. We can already fly direct to Bali for $peanuts from just about anywhere in Australia and connect to LBJ through Denpasar.
I'm not quite sure who they're intending for their market to be for these flights, but for most of us, it's going to remain far easier (and probably cheaper) to just fly through Bali.

I didn't realize there was a large dive market in Darwin, or a large adventure travel market for that matter? There sure isn't enough restaurant choices and nightlife to handle the hordes of leisure travelers.
As @WetPup said, wouldn't it be easier to just fly through Bali? I would think domestic flights to Darwin would be more expensive than a domestic w/in Indo.

Darwin's population is smaller than my podunk regional city out in the sticks of north Queensland. And getting domestic flights to Darwin alone will cost more than the return trip to LBJ via Bali. Darwin is nice, but convenient it is not. Which makes me think this planned route is intended to cater for a particular business market (eg. Mine site workers) rather than the leisure market.
I do not think LBJ has much to worry about in terms of an influx of divers coming in from Darwin, however I do concede the point that it might rapidly escalate to other destinations and therefore bring in many more divers.
