One of the fellow diver calculated my air consumption. I went from 2600 to 1000 psi in 15 minutes flat at 20ft ! Ha, ha, ha... it is amazing what being cold, scared, and embarrassed can do to your breathing.
I had a buddy that was in the water with a sea lion. He sucked back his double 95's in no time.

He was scared....LOL
 
I think the ABS backplate is what is causing you to be pushed forward while floating at the surface. A stainless steel backplate will move your center of gravity closer to your back. If your weight distribution is correct, you will float at the surface as good, if not better than with a jacket BC. My Halcyon BC never pushes me forward on the surface.
