Anyone dived in Ambon in the last 12 months? How was it?
Lots of critters? And who would you recommend to stay and dive with?

Was told when in Alor last year that not as good and dive sites ruined by redevelopment and rubbish.
I’m a regular diver in Tulamben, Bali so love macro, but wondering if worth going to Ambon.
Thanks in advance.

Did you ever get information about this? It's been several years since I went to Ambon, but loved the macro, so I"m considering going back.... thanks!

There's one review on Undercurrent from February 2024 - if you're a member you can see it (Not sure if you're not) and ask questions. They stayed at Spice Island Divers and gave it 5 stars. Also 5 stars for critters. Most of review is about Lion Air cancellation issues, but also says:

We saw squid and frog fish of all sizes and colors, nudibranchs, flat worms, slugs, flamboyant cuttlefish, and the highlight was a pair of mating cuttle fish. No Ambon scorpion fish. At dinnertime, everyone showed up with a big smile.

For Ambon Scorpionfish, you have to dive Tulamben, right Ruth 😏

Ambon Scorpionfish can be found in many places stretching from Red Sea to Fiji and Japan to Australia.
Saw one in Dauin many years ago. No big deal.
