Sorry to here that Bug. I feel for ya though. On the very first dive trip I took my G1 and Ikelite housing I was deleting some of the photos on the memory card and by mistake hit delete all. Lost 2 days worth of photos. Heh I am extra careful now about locking photos before ever going to delete. As far as data recovery, Drive Savers is one of the best companies in the world for data recover. They can get data off of nearly any drive. Here's their URL: http://www.datasavers.com/ Just FYI, they aren't cheap, they start at like $300 and go way up. But there website has some good tips on recovery as well.

For mass storage, I use the FlashTrax 40GB from SmartDisk. This unit has a screen that lets me review the photos and the ability to connect to a TV (has a remote as well). I back-up to CD as well.

If you don't want/need to review the material, a unit called "Tripper" (manufacturer unknown) just stores data/images. These two units read CF cards only, but you can get adaptors for other cards. There are many other choices.

Digital Photography Review (www.dpreview.com) is a great resource to find reviews from actual users once you limit your selection. Go to the "Storage and Media" and type in the name of the unit you'd like more information on.

Steve's Digicam (http://www.steves-digicams.com/digi_accessories.html) provides good reviews as well. Scroll down to "Image Storage Devices".

Good luck.

Sorry to hear about your loss, but it looks like you got a lot of good tips here.
Hope one works out for you!
Lisa
