Does it make sense to invest in a new career with such short working horizon at this point in your life? Most experienced commercial divers at your age are trying to figure out their next career move. It would be one thing if you have been working offshore, was a certified pipe welder, or in a heavy construction trades; but it sounds like your recent experience is not directly marketable.
Can you tell us more about what attracts you to commercial diving? It can be a pretty broad category, even though about 95% of the money (not divers) is in the international offshore oil service industry.
