alternatives to GUE?

I'm not sure why this split is in the DIR forum . . . if the OP is specifically looking for "DIR" training, the choices are GUE, possibly some UTD instructors, and then specifically trying to find a GUE or UTD-trained instructor from another agency who has adopted the protocols.

Otherwise, there are, as I already posted, a great many other options for technical or cave training.

Yeah, I thought I'd leave it here for awhile at least. It seems vaguely relevant to "DIR", and the OP seems interested in GUE training, just isn't near any instructors. There seem to be some posters suggesting GUE/UTD options for the OP. If it veers off course too badly or just descends into agency bashing, I'll boot it into a more general forum...
