Can anyone recommend an alternative to Halcyon’s weighted STA? I like Halcyon gear, but ~$220 for an STA and lead weight (w/o straps) seems a bit dear.

I can’t see that Oxycheq still makes their weighted STA. They do make a sausage weight, but it isn’t clear how much it weighs when filled w/ lead shot.

I am not currently in a position to cast my own DIY lead weight that conforms to my plate.

Thanks for all guidance.

The Halcyon weight is indeed pricey at just $130 for the weight alone. I use trim weight pockets on the cam bands. I position them so the weight is right against the plate. I would give that a try.

I do have a new Halcyon weight which I may list for sale. It was a replacement for one that developed a crack in the coating. I will say Halcyon has great customer service.

find another matching steel plate and just bolt two plates together for a 6mm plate

any other option requires finding a deal on something used

You can find something similar online cheaper.

Does it need to be attached to the STA? I use a p-weight when diving singles:
