Can anyone suggest an alternative to the Mako's, cheap yellow plastic spear tip protector packaged with their 5-prong cluster tip ?
 
Yes...better than the one it comes packaged with....

This is a rubber stopper I drilled 3 holes in. I use green or black rubber stoppers as well as white silicon stoppers on many applications such as plugging car/motorcycle exhaust pipes or on my kayak or inflatable drains. I will drill a hole for a eyelet screw with a piece of line tied to it for ease of use or locating.

I made the garden hose protector from the other thread. It is easier to put on and remove than the stopper. Look at your other thread!!!
