New diver looking to buy gear and trying to make the best choice. I will be diving mostly in warm water but maybe an ocassional dive in cold water. In you opinion should I go for the Oceanic Alpha 8 px3 or the Titan LX supreme.
I realize there are others out there and any recommendation is welcomed. These are the two that I have been looking at and are affordable as I have to buy two of them.

There is a fair bit of price difference between the regs you mention. Both are good regs but the Titan LX Supreme is priced quite a bit higher.

Take a look here: http://www.divers-supply.com/OCEANIC-GT3-W-CDX5-p/oce0003.htm
You can get the Oceanic GT3/CDX5 Combo from them for $199.95 and they are an authorized Oceanic dealer. You can also use the coupon code PG10 and get an additional 10% at checkout. I bought two and could not be happier. These are envionmentally sealed balanced regs.

If you order $250 or more shipping is also free.

Hope this helps.

I faced that same choice recently, and ended up going with the Gt3/CDX5 combo. I never got a clear idea that one was significantly better than the other, but I went with the GT3 because of the environmental seal, which I most likely will never need! :D
