Hey, how's it going? Round Rock is a great place depending on what you are looking for. Crime relatively low, traffic (although we complain alot) is not bad compared to other cities, great restaurants, etc.....cost of living is moderate. Compared to other places in the US, it's low...compared to the rest of texas, it's considered High...Round Rock's average home cost is 150-250k.
All in all, I love living in/near Austin. I personally wish I lived closer to downtown because I'm single...but, Round Rock is nice....good luck w/ everything...and if you end up moving here, stay in touch...
if you have more specific questions, feel free to IM me and I'll give you my email address....

Thanks for the information amigo. Right now it's a job op...not an offer (yet). I'm hoping it works out, as I love Austin. However, with a wife and 2 kids (stud boys), I'm going have to settle in the 'burbs.

Well, for a man w/a family, the Round Rock area is hard to beat. There are a couple schools in RRISD that have great reputations, and Leander has a good rep as well....Westwood (in RRISD) is supposed to be a very good High School....(not sure how old your kiddos are)......
