A few people have asked exactly where some of these shots were taken so here you go:

Most of these Eels were in Anilao, with a couple in Malapascua off of Cebu.

For those who know the area (or want to go), you can find some of the more rare and desirable of these eels on certain sites.

Ribbon Eels are on the house reef at Planet Dive at the north end of the reef especially. Other dive shops would know this site as "Twin Rock" and the area of the reef around the rocks is a particular good place to keep your eye out (not at the rock but on the reef ledges nearby). They are also regularly found on Alphol and occasionally at Mainit Point.

This includes juveniles such as this one:

and I am on the hunt for a full, full female which are pure yellow (I have the inbetween female stage which is light yellow-blue).

The Taylor's Garden Eels are at a site called Bubbles which is named as it has bubbles coming up from the coean floor which originate from a hot springs which is slightly inland. It is a sand/muck dive and there is a lot of shrimp gobies and fire urchins as well. This is only the fourth place in the world I have heard these eels being seen, but they are always there and there in numbers.

The Reptilian Snake Eel and the unidentified Eel are at the shore dives at Basura. You'll not see the Reptilian as often as the unidentified eel which are everywhere in the very shallows.

The rest are on a lot of sites, but the Twin Rocks/Planet Dive site at night is a goldfield for eels, and the Yellowmargin, the Giant, The Moustache Conger, the Barred-finned and the Reticulated where all taken there although I have other images from other sites.

Enjoy,
M
