All geared up & nowhere to go

Hi everyone...

Well, I've got new gear and I've been reading intently and playing with my new gear, getting to learn how to use it...now I've gotta get it wet!!!!

I was hoping to go into a pool to try out my gear and figure out my weighting, but I don't have a pool (my bathtub is WAY too small )....so I would love to go diving with someone in some shallow-ish dives (30-40 feet) until I am confident of the gear.

I've got some free time August 5th/6th....and most Sundays....anyone want to help a girl break in her new gear????

I have the same feeling right now Jodi. Wish I could help. I have a new set of fins I just can't wait to try out and we have a 13' exchange this weekend. I am sure you would be able to head over to Catalina and hook up with some divers or are there any dive clubs that you are a member of? Enjoy the new toys.

Hey fellow newbie, I've got most weekends off too, My girlfriend has sundays off usually. Let me know if you get something going, and I'll do the same for you.

I'm heading to Avalon on Saturday (July 22) and will leave on Sunday afternoon. If anyone wants to dive a tank or two, let me know ASAP.

Jodi - we dive Vets Park (Redondo) every Thursday. PM me for details - we have a lot of SoCals that roll in when they're able.

Its a fun shore dive - usually easy entry and exit, and tons to see there at night. We get there 'round 7:15 PM these days.

Ken...sounds like a plan...since it's a night dive, however, let me get comfortable with the new gear and then I'll try to join you...don't want to be searching for things in the dark! Aack!!!!

I would love to!! I love the Magician, but it's my wedding anniversary this weekend and we've already made plans....plus my husband isn't a diver (grounds for divorce?? LOL), so abandoning him for a dive on anniversary weekend would be grounds for divorce!
