It is just two different styles. You could get an O2 and He analyzer and put them in a pelican case and connect them together.

Ah - I was looking at the "Expedition - X" which has an external sensor. So basically an Expedition is a preassembled sealed El Cheapo. Think I've got it now.MechDiver once bubbled...
The sensor for the Expedition is internal.

What is the biggest motivation for having your own analyzer? I recently signed up for a Nitrox class. The LDS offered it at a very attractive price along with some other training. I don't know if I will spend enough time using nitrox to justify an analyzer. Is there a fear that the equiptment where you get your fills is faulty?
