Those of us that dive the reefs off of Broward County have been noticing an increase in algae attaching itself to the soft corals over the past few years. Government isn't proactive, they're typically reactive and usually an assessment needs to take place before all the other red tape. And it's going to take more than government to deal with these types of situations. Industry and people in general will have to take steps to help the reefs recover. I dove in the Keys this past August the LDS had mentioned that the algae had been washed away due to all the hurricane activity. Has that been the case for Broward county as well?
