Hey, from Los Angeles!

I am wondering if I can get some advice - right off the bat, I know (how cheeky). Anyway, my husband and I are going to be diving in Cozumel the last week of this month and need help! We could use a good dive shop referral, & diving locations suitable for my level. (He has been diving for 13 years.) I just got my OWC & AOWC last summer here in L.A. (wo dives - Catalina, Laguna & Redondo). I am kinda scared and want a dive shop that is experienced & will be kind. Anybody?

Alexandra,

Welcome to ScubaBoard. You're not cheeky, and undoubtedly someone with an answer will respond soon. Until they do, try this to amuse yourself.

Go up to the box directly below the blue ScubaBoard header, it should be the one that says "Welcome Alexandra" in the upper right corner. Across the bottom of that box is a line of commands. Third one from the right is the Search button. Click on it, then type "Cozumel Dive Operations" into the box and click on 'go'.

You'll be looking at a great many threads, each of which mentions a trip report, a description of a good or a bad experience in Coz, and many other types of information you might find interesting to browse. If you try typing in "Cozumel Hotels", you'll get a different set of threads, some will be the same, some not. This is a great way to identify people you might want to PM with specific questions, or to just organize general questions and information. Also, numerous threads discuss "Things I Forgot that I Wish I Had" type stuff, talking about batteries, gizmos and doodads that would have been nice to have. Spend some time looking around, and I bet you'll find a few things of interest.

Hope you enjoy ScubaBoard!

Howdy Alexandra !

Welcome to SB!!
:happywave Put us in your computer's favorites and check in often. This is a great place to learn, compare, argue :argue:

Or, just go to the Cozumel forum and read there. When you do get on the boat, find the Dive Guide, and tell him you are a newbie - that you'd appreicate extra attention. He won't mind, and - he work on tips.
