Anyone diving AL Dimension? Do you route all your LP hoses trough the back (inside)? Do you store your octo on the front or the back of the pocket?

I just got a deal from my LDS on the AL Dimension/apeks xtx200 and I'm wondering how I should route my hoses. The safe second hoses the reg comes with is a bit too short for my taste (36 inch I think) and the primary a bit too long (29inch I think). The octo is less comfortable on the front of the pocket and the size of the hose makes it almost impossible, the back of the pocket feels alright but its hard to reach while wearing the bc, almost impossible to place the hose in the pocket without assistance.

what are your thoughts?

I have 1 LP hose (to BC infiltrator) and 1 HP (to Computer) routed through the rear cut-out.

I use to stow the safe-second in reverse from the back of the octo pocket, because that felt less cluttered. I have since move to the normal/front position for more intuitive deployment. You see, it's not me that I'm worried about; I'm able to reach back and grab the octo with my eyes closed. It's someone else that's out-of-air and/or in distress that I'm worried about. They may just reach for anything yellow and start yanking. Could get ugly fast.

A longer octo hose is always good in my humble opinion, provided that it is correctly stowed.

I have a dimension i3 I use when I'm teaching. I do like to route the inflator hose going to the i3 inflator through the back hole, but I typically don't bother with the computer. The i3 inflator almost requires the hose to run through the back, or I find it puts too much pressure on the attachment point.

My octo is the same length as yours, and I route it under my right arm and loop it back into the holder from the front. That makes it very easy to deploy, and it keeps the hose well controlled so it's not flapping around anywhere. I do think that having your octo in an easy to grab position is VERY important.

Consider this - if you are confronted with an out of air buddy, they may well be in panic mode and will likely go for your primary rather than your octo. That's OK, but you want to make sure you can quickly grab and deploy that octo for yourself, if you had to.

TotDoc brought up a good point. Be sure to loop the inflation hose through the support strap (see pic). This will minimize the stress at the attachment point.
