4/3mm for me SS BP + STA + AL80 and I dive without weight, it is absolutely perfect, I would actually like to add maybe 2 more lbs just for trim.

I think you'll be alright with the SS BP.

The advantage with the 3mm wetsuit is I will definately stay warmer and as I get older I feel like I get cold a little easier. What would you recommend?
What works for the rest of us may not be optimal for you. But, possibly the best we can dois share our own experiences, as several have. I will do the same.

1. I ALWAYS dive a full suit, whether 1mm, 3mm, or 5mm (or drysuit). In the tropics i Use either a 1mm or 3mm and both are great in the water.

2. I ALWAYS dive a SS BP with a single cylinder, in fresh or salt water. In fresh water with a 1mm, I am neutral / very slightly negative. With a 3mm I am fine. In salt water I am very slightly positive.

Got to the T and C and rent a 3mm wetsuit. Use your SS plate.

I have a 5 lb plate that is fine with any Al tank but I added a tropical plate because of the luggage weight allowance. Unless you are not planning on more tropical dive trips, a Krydex plate would make a nice addition. I rarely wear neoprene in the tropics.

Everyone, I appreciate the responses and advice. I think I'll go with the 3mm wetsuit. I think that will give me versatility for future dives.

Mike
