There are thousands of used 80s out there - you should be able to find a 2nd-hand one for much cheaper if you look around a bit.

Find a yard sale. If I've got an hour to kill on Sat morning, I'll just call around using fridays paper - "Ya got any scuba diver stuff?" $20 should get you started on a decent condition cylinder. ~50 more and you're vip'd and hydro'd.

I am amazed at the # of folks who will pay 80-100 bucks on ebay for a used, unseen, not current cylinder, plus 30 for shipping. My LDS sells brand new out the door for 138 plus free air (5 I think, maybe ten)
