We just checked our sprays through in our dive bags. We did carry a small one on with us but didn't use it.
Have a great time and definately do the shark dive. It was great.

AKR charges $100 Roatan Diving, Scuba Roatan - Anthony's Key Resort Shark Dive | Anthony's Key Resort I don't know if they are doing the dives with AKR boats, but that would be a very, very long ride to get there. Maybe the roll it into the Mary's Place Dive which is a few minutes further on down East along the Southern shore. AKR has, at one time, simply resold the Waihuka Shark Dive Package. I would prefer to cab it over and do the dive from that shore base.

We did it from AKR in one of their boats and, yes, it is a long ride. It's done as the first dive, so you can start early and get back in time for the normal 2nd dive. Maurilio comes over to AKR and gives his detailed briefing before leaving the dock. It was a sporty ride for us in 3-4 ft seas and the only less-wet place was hiding behind the captain :) Because currents can be stiff on-site, Maurilio requires you to grab the current line as soon as you jump in and to hold the line all the way down to the bottom of the mooring. He also asks you to care 2lbs extra so you are good and negative and able to kneel comfortably on the bottom.

Overall, I'm glad we did the dive but, having now had the experience, probably wouldn't do it again.

Just got back from AKR. Happy to report no winds of any kind on the North side and the weather was perfect the entire week there (actually we were hoping for more sea breeze around the docks area). AKR may be the best diving resort ever!

AKR is on the north side...the only time you would get a wind would be when a strong Norte comes through....too early for those....oh and there is the occasional tropical storm and then it is windy every where :D
