My luggage destroyed. Need a good suitcase to get home. Not a dive gear bag but a general suitcase. I looked at mega but did not like what I found. Any suggestions on another place to shop?

Commercial Joaquin, on the corner of Juarez and 5th Av on the plaza. They have good, hard-shell wheeled suitcases.

If the airline destroyed it, there is a good chance they will pay for it.

No they won't if you read the fine print on your ticket they are not responsible for lost damaged stolen articles even if it is their fault airlines would go bankrupt if they started doing that

They need to hire non angsty baggage handlers. I have seen how some seem to give each bag a little extra push to make it a little more rough.

Chedraui has luggage but it might be similar to what's at Mega.

This must be new policy. My non-dive bag suitcase was purchased by an airline after they destroyed my original suitcase. This was about 7 years ago. I got a voucher or something like that, but I think they had a selection at the airport too. Mine was ruined on a return trip from Cozumel. I claimed my luggage at MSP and took it to the office/window on that level. Back then, it was routine. They saw the damage and took care of it right away.

I had my luggage ruined 2 years ago they duct taped it closed and all I got was an apology thank you very much united

A few years ago, the airline destroyed my suitcase. At the airport, behind the "lost/damaged luggage desk", they had a small room full of new (new looking? but they still had tags from the manufacturer) suitcases, and told me to pick any one from a particular area as a replacement.
Yeah, that process probably was too fair.....
