Aircraft Carrier Wreck Near Sri Lanka

HI There is one dive operator in Sri lanka now operating and conducting expeditions to dive the sunken air craft carrier. Sea my report on Google. A visit to the air craft carrier. I have been diving there since a few years. Trimix too is available.

Hi Dear Tec divers,
The dives to the wreck Hermes will commence at the end of March 2011. Usually currents are very strong. Physically demanding. an absolute adventure. Deep Sea Resort provides services for divers to dive the wreck HMS Hermes. Last year more than 75 tec divers from Australia dived the wreck hermes., In 2011 as per bookings there will be more than 150 divers. Maximum number of a group is 12 pax.
Hermes wreck is still untouched, undisturbed. It should remain in that state.
Removal of artifacts - totally prohibited.

Hi divers

We are now successfully operating the only Tec dive center of Sri Lanka to dive the Wreck Hermes.
During the year 2010 we had our Test run. Had over 70 divers from Australia and many other places. It was a big challenge to organize the logistics and other stuff. But we are pleased and satisfied. We are looking forward to double the figure next year. Bookings are very good. The deep sea resort is ready and functioning.
The roads are better. We need about five and a half hours to reach Batticaloa.

HI Tec divers,

Sri Lanka divingtours opened up the Deep Sea Resort adjoining the Batticaloa Lagoon. Divers can get them selves picked up from their door step and return back after the dives.
Some divers use to dive with air. Some on Trimix 20/33. Dives on trimix is much enjoyable.

Hi Divers,
Along with the air craft carrier HMS Hermes, the destroyer Vampire and a fleet of ships were sunk.
Altogether 10. ships. On the 9th of April 1942;
We recently discovered the Tanker which accompanied the Hermes. The wreck was at a depth of 40m
Top most point was at 27. There was one canon at the aft of the ship. The wreck was covered with nets fishing hooks etc. The fishermen said that there was a big reef. It wasn't a reef.
The name of this Tanker is still unknown. Need some help from divers. This is not the Hollyhok which was a covett.
