I have an A/I computer. I have heard good and bad about A/I. My question to Scuba Board searchers is.

What are your views?

Is it better not to have an A/I computer?

you might want to read over the last 5 polls that were done on this subject.
But, of course, they didn't prove anything either...
but, then, no poll here ever has.
Except mine :dazzler1:

I have both an AI and a brass SPG. I would never trust my life to just the AI, but I like having the backup and convenience.

Advantages and disadvantages. You have to weigh them based on the type diving you're going to do with it.

My Oceanic hoseless/transmitter VT Pro has started losing the signal between the 1st stage and the cx a few times a dive. It synches back up, but the alarm is annoying. An air integrated cx on a hp hose would seem to fix this but then adds more things to clip off and find a hp port for. No big deal either way.

Your poll askes if A/I computers are the best or the safest. Isn't that a loaded question? I don't know of any computer that is necessarily the best or the safest. I currently use a non A/I comp., but I am thinking about a A/I one for the future.

I actually did a search on this topic. I found nothing! I was surprised and looked no more. That is why I posted a thread. I am going to check the thread some one posted for me.

i was really not looking to start a dedate, I just wanted some other points of views.

Like I said "sorry"!

BTW, I wanted to add, the cx is my backup/data gathering device for my dives except for on shallow recreational dives. I dive with a SPG and bottomtimer and the cx collects the data for analysis. With MS Access, you can retrieve some very usefull information from the VT Pro if you know what you are looking at. Their software only gives you a peek at what is actually being recorded. I'm guessing they do this for legal purposes.

At least you tried :D I did a search on "AI computer" (note the quotes) and got 7 pages of posts, including your poll.
The search just takes some trial and error to get what you want.

And, everything here starts a debate.
