Hello,

Looking around the dive market, more specifically the dive computer market, and I find that there are air integrated units that must monitor your air supply somehow.

Is there anyone out there who has either used or has the two types that I mentioned above. What are the pros and cons vs each type?

Safe Dives,

Will Johnson

There are hundreds of posts here dealing with both types, the differences and pros/cons of each you can access via the search button near the top of your screen. Manufactures also list and show the differences on their websites.

Air integrated is just nice in that in calculates how long your tank is going to last based on your breathing rate, depth, and remaining pressure. It's really no different than in a car today... do you want a gauge, or the little computer that says you have 150 miles of gas left... that's about it...

But since it is monitoring air, you can also have alarms... like beep at me when I get to 1500 psi because that's when I want to turn around, then beep again at 600 so I can ascend.

It's going to raise the price by a couple hundered dollars for air integrated... worth it?? It's pretty cool... so I guess it just depends on how much money someone wants to spend.

I now dive with an Aeris Elite Hoseless air integrated.... but then again... I own a dive shop. Guys who own car dealerships normally don't drive junky cars...

I was questioning the same thing when buying my computer. I went with the Vytek air integrated. I wanted a computer that would be able to calculate air consumption and things like that. If you have the extra money go for the air integrated even though i am sure many people will disagree. I also have a backup SPG incase the air integration fails.
