The scallop pie guy at Port Fairy told me reheating in an air fryer brings his pies back to life again

Or something like that

Magnificent!

Interested. On one hand I don't want to be buy yet more gadgets for the kitchen that don't get used, on the other, these things look pretty handy. We eat a lot of seafood, mainly fish. I can't catch salmon where I live but I do catch a lot of trout which are very salmon-like in taste and texture. I know trout can be a bit yuck, but these are very good.

Yes I have to resist the urge to buy every cooking gadget I see. I didn't succeed in resisting this one, which comes from down your way:

I attached it to a standard weber gas grill. It was quite a bit of work tending to it and refilling it with wood chips throughout the 8-hour smoke but I have to say it was worth it. My first batch of cold smoked trout was delicious.

It also adds a nice touch of smoke to tritip etc.

I have the same thing. It's bloody good!

Aforementioned trout, cold smoked. Also love doing cheese.

I get it, my Croat mate had a smoke house but for me it would be a steam generator for the sauna I should build

I can take the fish in there, and vegetables, free my regs for service

Basted in sweat and eucalyptus

Not seafood but chicken thighs and wings in the air-fryer are really good! Sometimes we hot or cold smoke chicken then finish in the air-fryer. All of the crispy goodness of oil fried chicken without any of the grease.

We went from a counter top oven to the Ninja air fryer and haven't looked back. And we have recently experimented with loafs and crisps (ie apple, peach, etc) that have turned out as good as any that were previously done in our standard range/oven. Now, depending on the size of your air fryer, you will have to experiment with aluminum or other pans to find ones that fit.

Lastly, we have also done small and large batches of different vegetables.

The bottom line, I think, is that modern air fryers are quite versatile and you just have to experiment.

Oh, and we gave up on the parchment liners that did not stay put when we had a small portion of something in the air fryer. This decision was also prompted by a liner that got somewhat singed when it got pushed up to the heating element by the fan.
