I've stayed at both Iberostar Cozumel and Park Royal Cozumel. I'd rate Iberostar slightly higher but not by much, it's very close. I didn't have youngsters, just teens so my view might be different. The reason I would pick Park Royal next time would be because I doon't like being stuck on the south end of the island with a long taxi ride to town. There is good shopping and dining around the Park Royal and it's just a few dollars for a taxi to downtown. If this doesn't matter to you then Iberostar is probably the way to go. Iberostar with Dressel divers is a very nice combination. Dressel gave us great service and it's 5 minutes to all the best diving. I really liked being able to do a 1-tank dive or 2-tank with the surface interval back at the resort where I could grab a drink and snack and check on the family. Book your dive package ahead of time with Dressel online for a significant discount and if you add more dives they will charge the same discounted rate for the added dives.
