I have been certified and diving off and on since 1986. Yes, showing my age, but in all that time I dove for myself and didn't really know many people who REALLY enjoyed Scuba like I do. Fast forward to 2013: I met "THE ONE" for me. My perfect match, my equal, my everything! Fast forward again to June 2015: My beautiful bride asked to get certified as a diver.:D:D:D

Now my everything has turned into a diving monster. Eat, sleep and even read magazines on the toilet about SCUBA. In the last two weeks we have purchased all new diving gear for both of us, including wet and dry suits, BC's, Reg set-ups, paid for our trip to Roatan in August and are now discussing an extended vacation next year to complete the DM training somewhere tropical.

Ahhhhhhhh, I have finally found my bliss.

Does she have a sister?

Her sister just got married 2 weeks ago and thinks SCUBA is scary and has no interest in doing it.

You should get a two-holer. Then the two of you could sit and read together while holding hands.

Good for you! Don't wreck by going through DM together spend the money and just go dive! My wife and I did our DM together and found out how bad our communication skills really were!!

very good news....i glad for you.

I LOVE to see posts like this. I was certified 1974 and am closing in on 1200 dives. Married in 1987 and my wife snorkeled but did not dive. We went to Bali 5 years ago and when I said I was ditching her for 5 days of diving out of our 12 day trip, she went to the Keys on her own and took the OW course, which she finished in Bali.

Now, she is a dive monster. Has almost 150 dives including very challenging ones (deep, night, wreck, strong current). Loves the ocean and everything in it (including me, luckily!). Another great new adventure after 27 years together . . .
