Nice DM leaving the water while you are fending off an aggressive fish. What's her name?

No fault of hers. On this dive she wasn't looking after us, we were diving as an independent buddy pair, responsible for ourselves. She was the last up of her group and I know she was low on air because she signalled me before leaving the bottom at 35m that she was going up and I confirmed we were staying for a some more minutes and would do 3 mins deco at 6m and 6mins at 3m.

I had one follow me in the Cay Sal banks, I've got about 15 minutes of video of him trying to attach to various parts of me. Me wearing only a t-shirt and shorts...

Amazingly persistent buggers!!! I hit her with my fins, video housing, hand....I even blew air at her through my reg. She only seemed to give up when I finished a rather energetic safety stop and came up above 5 FSW.

I also saw some odd behavior from them in Belize...One attached to a rather stressed out looking Cow Fish (coloration was like distressed leather) and another valiantly trying to attach itself to a fast moving Parrot Fish that wanted nothing to with him. I guess they need more sharks in Belize...poor guys are homeless vagabonds.

They no longer look cool to me...I stay as far away as possible.

Negril, Jamaica. Remora was attempting to attach to either my buddy ior me. Very persistent! Hung around during theentire safety stop. This one did not try to bite though.

Hate the suckers!

I have had a small one attach to my thigh, a Larger one attach to my tank and a small one antagonize me because it seemed obsessed with the tattoo on my left upper arm and kept trying to hitch a ride. All three took place in Roatan. One harrassed and followed for awhile in hawaii but eventually went away.

The one on my thigh was attached to my diveskin so I never got the full suction from it. Ever since the first Ramora incident I had I refer to several people I know as Ramora's They are clueless to what I mean. :D

A remora attacked me today, also in north east Brazil. It bited my ear, I was very scared, 'cause I don't have many dives and I've never seen that kind of fish before. But the DM calmed me down, and my ear is ok. It didn't bleed or anything...

Here is me. I am the diver

(Never)

I have seen one go up the shorts of a dive guide in Chuuk. Was quite funny? However, on another trip there it happened to me, but at least I had a wetsuit on.

A couple of months ago, diving in Eilat, we spotted a small remora (approximately 40 cm). The remora showed interest in us, swimming a little bit around each of us. Then, apparently it concluded that I am either the largest diver of the group- or the most resembling a shark  and headed to me. The remora sticked to me for about 20 minutes or so, most of the time I couldn't see it but I felt through the wetsuit that something is scratching my A*ss, and my buddies were choking with underwater laughter.
At some time, I wanted to see the fish too so I switched to swimming on my back- the remora swithced position too and started scratching in a errr.... more sensitive area . I have cool photo of this event, I'll try to scan and post it later (assuming it is not considered as some sort of bizarre pornography :eyebrow: ). After quite a long time the remora realized that we are not such a good host and left us alone..

Anyway, through the wetsuit, I was amazed at the strength of the remora as I could feel something pulling me quite strongly. I can imagine how annoying a remora can be to a large fish like a stingray/manta/shark etc.
