I wish I listened to my dive instructor who recommended this after every dive:

put a few drops of rubbing alcohol or alcohol mixed with an equal amount of white vinegar. Over the counter Star-Otic or Sim-Ear can be used but they are more expensive.

You all may know this already but I'd thought I'd pass it along.
