I've finally found a somewhat kludgy fix for an issue with the Aeris and Oceanic software. With either one, in all versions I could find, the labels in the Dives Graph window appeared black-on-black. (They were actually black on near-black, as I found once when tilting an LCD display - I was just barely able to read them.) All the actual data was displayed properly. I just couldn't tell what the fields were since the labels were not visible. If you're not sure if you have this problem, you don't - it's glaringly obvious when you try to look at the graph of a dive.
The solution is not to use the "Silver" color scheme in Windows.* As far as I can tell, the theme used does not make any difference, nor does selection of colors in the Advanced Appearance dialog. The other two choices, "Default (Blue)" and "Olive Green" work just fine. The color scheme basically changes the color of the title bars in Windows and not much else. Obviously, if you're not a fan of the "Silver" color scheme, you've probably never seen this problem in the first place. Since I am, I ran into it trying 4 different versions of the software (2 versions each of the Aeris and Oceanic flavors) on 3 different computers because I was using the same color scheme (in different themes) on each!
*Right-click the desktop, select "Properties", choose the "Appearance" tab. "Color Scheme" is the middle of the three dialogs.
