Both my wife and I have the AI with QD. I liked it because the size
is fairly compact and the information is nicely laid out.
My wife likes it because the numbers are large and the actual
LCD has alot of contrast and was alot easier to read than
the versa pro.
i.e. the digits are thicker and darker against the light
background. Makes it easier to read for those over 40 eyes.
It is also nice that you can see everything you need at once
including depth & compass during navigation without having to
rotate anything.
The bent angle of the hose mount is nice since it angles
the display for easy reading if you clip it on your left side.
I just tip mine up to read it, no twisting or rotating needed.
The safety stop timer is kind of a cool feature.
Used it on 10 dives so far and have liked it. No night dives yet.
Not sure I totally trust it, but the Air time remaining is kind
interesting to watch.
The PC download software kind of sucks. In my opinion its
not fully baked. I'd call it "tradeshow ware". Not ready for primetime.
Yes you can get it to work and it is pretty neat to see the
information and the graphs.
It has some bugs that can be avoided but if you run into them,
it is not fun and may cause you to loose your dive data.
A few of them, after they are encountered, you either have to
patch the database file with Microsoft Access or unload and
re-install the s/w.
There are several posts about this. If you search you'll see
a few others from me describing the bugs and how to avoid
them.
Hope that helps.
