Hi,

I'll be heading to LA in May '08 and will be staying in San Clemente for a week. Was thinking of doing a spot of diving.

Would need advise on the area though, and whether there are dive shops nearby I could hook up with for arrangements.

Thanks!

Hi aQuaLiciOus,

Do you want to shore dive or boat dive? There aren't any boats that go out of Dana Point (the nearest harbor to San Clemente). You have a lot of shore diving options in Laguna Beach, check out Laguna Beach California Scuba Diving. The shop is located right by Shaw's cove, a very popular and good dive spot.

If you are interested in boat dives, go to:

California Dive Boats : The Official Page

Closest boats are in Long Beach or San Pedro. I like the Bottom Scratcher, Great Escape, and Magician.

The other option is to take the Catalina Express out of Dana Point to Catalina Island and dive Casino Point.

Hope this helps!
