 I was just wondering if anyone could guide me to a company that would carry underwater housings for Samsung video recorders. I looked at some places, but Sony and Canon seem to be the most popular. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I'm pretty certain that you'll find that none of the Samsung models listed on Digideep will show that there's a housing available. Mostly because they typically only show dedicated housings for a particular model. Which to the best of my knowledge no one ever made for a Samsung camcorder.

However there are any number of generic housings that could work. Mostly of the seal-n-go variety, whereby you start the camera, seal it, dive, then shut it off and edit out all the pre/post dive footage. Some also have simple on/off controls that may be adaptable to your camera.

Look at Aquatix or Atmoseal, they both have one with a universal start/stop option.

There's also a guy selling the "Nemo 200" on eBay. It's a seal-n-go only with no controls. But if you're handy, Ikelite sells their control rods/glands separately so it would be fairly easy to engineer at least a start/stop control. I've seen them sell for as little as $189.

Another thing I've seen done using a generic "tube" housing, is that people bring their i/r remotes with them on the boat to start the camera just before they splash. This allows them to seal it back on land in a clean, dry place.

You might find some other options here
