We plan on making a quick dive at the Vortex tomorrow around noon on our way over to Gainesville, but this will be our first time there. Is it likely to be packed with swimmers and have horrible vis?

Neither of us are cave certified, but from what I've read you can get to about 100' at the mouth of the cave area, or am I wrong?

Any advice you could give us before we head out?

I think you got some bad info. Its about 60 at et mouth and perhaps 100 ft back to the ball room and a max cave depth of about 100 or so. Its been a long time.

Well it was a pretty fun quick dive. Not too crowded, or stirred up. Dove around lunch on Monday. Saw 54ft at the mouth of the cave.

My buddy had to rent equipment, and man they really need to check their stuff. He had to take back the first two regulators they gave him because of free flowing, other than that it was a cool spot, I would definitely go back.
