Hi all,

I'm doing my TDI Entry level Trimix in two weeks in the Cayman's. Was thinking of doing the Advanced class the end of July. Belize is ProTech and Turks is O2 Technical (any others?). Anyone dove with either of them? Which would be the most interesting @ 300 feet? Blue Hole would be cool in Belize and Turks I would think would be alot like the Cayman's with the walls? Any input would be helpful.

Thanks,

Kev

How much are you paying for the courses.
who are you doing the TDI course with in Caymans

Hi Kev,

Diving in T&C is quit good (I worked there for 1/2 year), dive site are far a way, so boat trip should be expensive. John from O2 Technical run a good operation.

I moved to Belize because deep diving here is amazing, and we have deep site 5 minutes a way from the Dive center, and neutrally I think that Protech Belize is good operation (smile).

Aquatec:

Did the TDI Adv Nitrox/Deco last April with DiveTech (Cayman's). Start the Entry Level Trimix on May 25. Noticed on another thread you did your Advanced Trimix in the Cayman's as well, who with? Was that as an instructor?

Cost for Nitrox/Deco was $250 for full rental gear for 6 days, $675 for course, and around $250-300 for gas. Classroom time was reduced by alot since I studied ahead of time. Cayman's gas is expensive since only 1 O2 supplier on the island (at least what I was told). We were also doing some long dives in preparation for trimix. Last one was 2 1/2 hours and practice contingency to 160'. Also ended up being a private class which was great. I had a similiar SAC rate as my instructor, about .42-.45 at depth, so we were able to do some long awesome wall dives.

Entry Level and Advanced Trimix classes are $750. Have own gear now so no rental fee. Gas will be expensive as we will be diving (4) 80's. Instructor already warned me :D. Ended our last class with (2) 80's and (3) 40's. One 40 was used to extend bottom time. Curious what tank combo's you have your students do in Nitrox/Deco class and Trimix?

Dropped you a private message about doing the Advanced Trimix class in Belize, thanks for your note.

Would like to hear a trip report on your course and how you liked the Cayman Walls?
