The Wetter The Better Dive Shop, in Punta Gorda, Florida, is starting an Advanced Open Water Course on Friday, January 18th.
This course is designed to both improve your skills while learning important safety and skills. The classroom work for this course is very limited - rather, it's designed for the diver to improve their skills, and have some fun! You'll learn Navigation skills, Mapping skills and Underwater Lifting while using bouyancy bags - VERY important skills for finding those treasures! You will come out of this feeling much more confident in the specialized areas in which you choose to dive. Also included is a Night Dive... This is where you'll get a chance to see those creatures you won't normally get a chance to see! To describe this dive in one word: FUN! Peak Performance Bouyancy skills will leave you extremely confident in dialing in your BCD. You'll learn how NOT to waste the air you need to fill your BCD - enabling you to stay down and enjoy more. The class will be set up as follows: FRIDAY EVENING 7:00PM TO 9:00PM - CLASSROOM SATURDAY MORNING 11:00AM TO 1:00PM - POOL DIVE SUNDAY MORNING 9:00AM TO 11:00AM - POOL DIVE (FOLLOWING WEEKEND - OPEN WATER DIVING - KEYS OR LAUDERDALE - TBA) SATURDAY 1:00PM MEET BOAT FOR OCEAN DIVES SUNDAY 9:00AM MEET BOAT FOR OCEAN DIVES. ***ON SATURDAY EVENING WE WILL DIVE OUR NIGHT DIVE - TIME IS TBA*** Cost of certification will be $250.00 (This includes ALL instructor fees, pool charges and fees for instructors in ocean dives). Book or CD fees are also included. Your only fees paid out-of-pocket will be boat fees (Approx. $75.00 per day - 2 tank dives, night dive, hotel (+/- $100.00?) and food/drink.
