hello everyone, i have a Zeagle Scout BC, and right now i dive with 4#s in the rear trim pockets and 10#s in the BC Pockets. i prefer the comfort of having weight in the bc pocket, but i dont like that i would have to deal with a zipper to ditch the weight, and i dont like having basically un-usable pockets because weights take up most of the space.

does anyone know of any add on weight integration systems? im thinking of just making my own system somehow if one is not available.

thanks for the input in advance

love,
James

This might sound stupid, but how about 4#s in the trim pockets, and 10#s on a belt?

Commander....

Are you looking to integrate weights or actually add another weight integrated system? I would think you are not talking about the latter. What are you looking to achieve...adding weight....adjusting trim, etc. There are weight pouches with which you can adjust trim. They attach to your shoulder straps or your tank band. You could purchase a shoulder harness but IMHO it would be way too cumbersome for a jacket style BCD. Some divers put part of their weight in the BC pockets and part on a belt. There are several ways to arrange your weight system, but you don't want it to get complicated. Based on my interpretation of what you are saying, it sounds like the pouches would be the best thing to meet your needs...as well as simply trying different set ups. But the bottom line is to keep it simple....

i guess im re-thinking all my weight because its time to put on the wetsuit. when i dive with it i need 4-5 more pounds above the 14#s i already have to take. i am trimmed out pretty level with4 in the back and 10 in the BC pockets, so im just looking to see if there is any way to add some kind of weight integration, without using the BC pockets. i will probobly just go back to the belt if there isnt any other option. im just trying to figure out exactly what my options are. hanks for the responses

Do a search for weight integration on this forum -look at the comments -it's just not a good idea. I posed the 'what if..' question to a rather well known rep at a large show and got 'well, don't get hung up' for an answer. He then went on to get some sales award that night. What does that tell you. Tells me alot.

Yea, move all weight except that needed for trim to a belt or harness. Should you need to get out of your rig at depth in that buoyant wetsuit you will be gald to have the weight remain on your person.

Spectrum makes a great point. When I wear a wetsuit, instead of adding weight to my BCD I put on a weightbelt. If you ever have to remove your rig underwater you'll really appreciate this tip. It also less weight concentrated on your BCD.

yeah, i have decided to go with the belt setup again. im dying to get a steel tank, but im a college student, and im saving up right now for a steel tank.
