Add Links in a Post

The first step is to find the Web page you want to include a link to in your post. This example is for a post on ScubaBoard, but you can also go to any Web page and copy the URL from the address bar on your Internet Browser.

Move your mouse pointer over the "Share a post" icon and let it "hover", but do not click on it. This is called a mouseover of hoverover. A dialog box will pop and you can copy the URL to the clipboard.

Then start a new thread or post and enter your message and follow these steps:

  1. Let your mouse pointer hover over the "Share this post" icon until the dialog box pops
  2. Click the Insert ink icon
  3. Paste the URL into the URL box (Ctrl+V). You can also choose to change the text that displays as a hyperlink before clicking the Insert button.
:FAQremember: Clicking on the "Share this post" icon will put the URL for that post in the address bar. You could also copy it there. Some touch-screen devices may have difficulty with "mouseover" behaviors so this might be a more usable alternative on a smart phone or tablet.

You have the option to edit the Link after it is inserted. Click on the Link and this menu will pop (before posting): These options are available:

  1. Open link
  2. Edit link
  3. Unlink

The post will look something like this:

Another way to link to a add a Link to a ScubaBoard post is to create an "Unfurl". Just paste the link on a blank line and ScubaBoard does the rest of the work:
