Hey folks, I am pretty new to diving (11 dives since sep. last year) and I was thinking about making videos from the dives from now on. (still cursing myself that I hadn't a camera for my malta dives)
I bought a SJ4000 from qumox for starters. The reviews were pretty good, especially for that cheap price (around 100 Euro).
Now I wanna know where to mount it.

From reading in these forums there seems several solid(?) possibilities:
-mounted on the dive mask
-mounted on the head with strap
-mounted near the shoulder at the dive gear
-mounted on a wrist with wristband

The last one seems not so good for me, perhaps too shaky and too much arm action...

What would you do? Any experience with one of the methods? Any other methods that could be good?
Thanks in advance for any help!

The first two are going to drive anyone watching your videos crazy unless you do a lot of editing since every time you tilt/twist your head, look at gauges, check with your buddy etc. - we get to watch. Also how do you check that the camera is on underwater? Take your mask off? Also you may see/hear bubbles as they curl around your mask due to the extreme wide angle of the lens.

There's also a pole mount if you want to be in your videos or poke the camera in small openings. I'd try to get a neutral or slightly negative one. If your pole is too buoyant - while it may save the camera if dropped, you'll have to be careful to always hold it firmly or it will try to float up - and you'll see that in your video later.

My personal opinion with a camera that small is the more stable the mount the better the results. I'd also suggest a tray for that reason. They're going to be more money but offer optional light mounting - most have a two handle option also. I believe since your camera is a GoPro clone that all their mounts fit as well. Snake River makes a nice one but there's plenty of less expensive options. SRP Tray

There's also a BC mount option. This one gets the camera out in front of your body slightly - I know nothing about it: https://www.zgearinc.com/store/p3/BCD_GoPro_Mount.html
