My wife and I will be staying at Ventanas Al Mar on Cozumel later this week. We're planning on diving a couple of days. What's the most convenient dive shop to the east coast?

Aldora has boats they keep on the east side, but you can only dive over there is conditions are just right. If you get a chance to dive the east side, take it. It's quite different then the reefs and walls in the marine park on the west side.

Most of the shops keep their boats at the caleta and pick up divers at hotel, condo and resort docks from town south. Staying on the east side is not a great choice logistically for diving. Most dive ops pick up at hotel, resort and condo piers from town south, and with only a few exceptions, to use a pier for pick up/drop off you need to be a guest at the property. You'll likely have to drive to the caleta to meet your boat no matter who you dive with.
