I did a dive Christmas eve in Acapulco, and found the area we dove (The Channel, The Garden) to be littered with trash. Not the greatest experience due to this.
 
Yes we have a big problem .

We consume too much disposable materials and have not kept in mind the three Rs. Reduction, Reuse and Recycling.

A lot of it is washed down to the sea where it never goes away.


Lets all beging with the most important R... reduce as much as possible all kinds of disposable packaging materials, especially plastics. This is even more important in Mexico as a lot of the dump sites are not proper land fills (an even if they were, it makes more sense to reduce).

Acapulco is renowned for its large population of diaper fish and related subspecies... I avoid the sea there. I actually have avoided Acapulco too!
