I met up with Bamamedic2.0 for a few dives at Bluewater today. Turned out to be a much more pleasant day than expected.
First dive we went off the platform to the sailboat and the school bus and just generally played in and around the schoolbus. Surfaceair temp was 59 degrees. The water temp at the platform was 74 degrees. Visibility was around 40 feet. The temp dropped to about 66 degrees at the bus at around 64 fsw or so. The thermocline was at around 42 feet. Max depth was 71 fsw and average depth was 51 fsw.
Second dive we went due north to the pipes and played in the pipes for a bit. Then followed the quarry wall around to the west. Maximum depth was 58 fsw and the average depth was 36 fsw . The surface air temp was up to 67 degrees. Temp at the platform was 74 degrees and the temp at the pipes was 68 degrees. Visibility was still around 35 to 40 feet.
BM was in her drysuit and was warm and toasty. I was in a 5mm wetsuit. The first dive wasn't bad but I got a little chilled on the second dive after around 40 minutes or so.
I took 23 minutes of video of Bamamedic diving on the first dive before the video card filled up but the file size is 1.77 gigs and I have no clue how to post it. If anybody can tell me a way to split it up or compress it or something I'll upload the footage.
