I work extensively around plastics ABS included and an ABS backplate just doesn't seem like it would hold up well with 110 pounds of gear attached via two 3/8 bolt holes, maybe I'm wrong but any enlightenment would help.

Thanks Matt

I've seen some crack. The Kydex plate from DSS is a great alternative though. That's what I went with. And I am increasingly scared that I will be using it either with 121s or 130s.

Have you dove with 121's before? I have dove my buddies lp95's a couple times and they seemed to work well. I was trimmed and balanced well. I just picked up some 121's, couldn't pass up the price I got them for. I am a bit worried they might be overkill for anything less then 175'.

LOL! I have had a SINGLE 120 in the pool. Once. I am not looking forward to carrying those monsters around. But these 108s are leaving me feet light. Gotta do something...

I would use a 1.5" by 13" metal strengthener plate with that much tank weight on an ABS back plate. (or at leat some big SS fender washers).
