Just got back from 10 days on Oahu and I must say; I was dreading the reality of everyday life that I had to come home to – but oh well.

While on Oahu my kids (13 y/o girl and 11 y/o boy) and I spent 3 days diving with AAA Diving – What a GREAT experience!

Alex, the owner and Captain, was awesome and was funny as hell! The boat was great and the staff was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable – what more can ya ask for?

The dive sites were really cool: deep wrecks for the first dive and a shallower reef for the second. The boat only does morning trips, so it’s a totally unhurried atmosphere and you dive to your max, air or NDL, which ever comes first.

I will definitely be diving with Alex and AAA Diving again!

I am so happy to hear this!

He can be rough around the edges but *we* (his friends) have been "working with him" for a few years now.....

he has a big heart and truly loves diving. Yes, that boat is awesome.
Glad he behaved around the kids.

He provides computers and has an AED on board. He really has the divers best interest at heart, IMO. It is a struggle to make it in this very tough business with Hawaii cost of living, etc. I have seen him go without electricity at home to pay his huge tax bills to the state. If anybody deserves to make it, this guy does.

He is not humble which turns some people off but what is that sayin? "It ain't braggin if you can do it?" I love Alex and his GF Cheryl too.

He has placed a lot of moorings with his own money BTW. He is a Master Instructor and has many hours underwater. I did my rescue diver with him and thought he did a great job.

Glad your kids a good trip with you!

I see you are a paramedic...you might appreciate this. Last year he had a man have a HA and they got the victim from the Sea Tiger, got the other 11 divers out of the water and back to the dock in 12 minutes while doing CPR.

We dive off our own boat, but I miss my days diving off the Elysium.

Yeah, he seemed like a great guy! I wouldn’t say he necessarily behaved himself around my kids, but he did ease them into it to make sure they could handle it – which they can… Plus my son has hair as long as his – so they bonded over that.

I am going to try to get out there in November to do my Rescue as well. Also, gonna take him and Cheryl up on their offer for dinner – they seem like fun people.

What kind of boat do you guys own? I just bought a 27’ cabin cruiser (Chris Craft) but kind of wish I had bought more of an off-shore fishing boat (Parker, Grady White, etc…), which is what I originally wanted (I gotta keep the family happy). The reason I ask is that I hope to move back over there one day – but your seas seem a bit rougher and more volatile than here off the CA coast.
