Just received an A720IS for my 40th B'day, also ordered the housing a few minutes ago from Amazon. Really like the size of this much better than my Oly C8080.

Loaded CHDK Allbest 51 from net, set RAW parameters to "save Raw". Download pics from card reader, shows files in my pics folder. Trying to open the CRW file, but Picasa is only recognizing the JPEG pics. It downloads the CRW file, but doesn't open them.

Does the CRW file need to be converting first with something like DNG? Or am I missing something taking a step in Picasa?

I have an a570is and use CHDK to create CRW images, plus the stand JPGs. Picasa opens and displays both. Have not heard of a difference between my camera and yours with respect to the exact type of RAW file created. Check the version # of your Picasa. Maybe it needs to be upgraded. Older versions of Picasa did not have the ability to open RAW files.

I seem to be running Picasa 2.7. The downloaded CRW images are odd and have crw file extension, but I can convert the file type to dng4ps2 and they will then display in Picasa. Do I need to save my CRW images in RAW as a different file type extension.
Just trying to avoid the extra time taken to convert them to dng4ps2.
