Sur eyou have been following the excitement of the release of the A7 and A7r full frame NEX cameras. Any initial thougths on use underwater? 7 faster than 7r in low light?

Also how would the FF lens go on standard NEX cameras?

Now need to see what housings come out

Ah yes always something new to spend $$$ on. Read the early reviews on dpreview. Current e mount lens can be used on these new models but images will be cropped (option in camera to turn off cropping) As far as using the new FE lenses on the older NEX cameras ? They are e mount so they should fit w/o any special adapters. My guess is the image would be identical to the equivalent older e mount lens.

The fact that Sony is actually making an underwater housing shows they are sensitive to our needs as UW photographers. Hopefully this will be reflected in their choice of lens to produce. If Sony has a housing I think housings from the big players can't be far behind. Been wanting to go full frame, but didn't want to sacrifice the portability of my Nex 7 . Now with the A7r I'm there.

$2500 is a lot for a housing only rated to 40m....

Phoebe Lu from Nauticam and Alex Tattersall Nauticam UK have today both posted photos of the Sony/Nauticam NA-A7 housing featured at Hong Kong DRT on their Facebook page. Alex photo shows the housing with the Nikonos 15mm lens mounted and in Phoebe's photos you can see the the housing is designed to use the larger DSLR ports not the Mirrorless housing ports.
